薩滿教是北方民族的宗教信仰，特別是在滿族的生活、風俗以及各項大小祭祀活動中，有著非常重要的作用。本曲運用薩滿教的曲調，再現薩滿祭祀中的上香、請神、跳神、送神等儀式場面。獨特的音樂風格和結構，加之少見的樂隊編制，使樂曲更富有神秘的色彩。（本曲榮獲文建會23年民族音樂創作獎，絲竹室內樂暨吹打樂組第三名。

人類在遭遇致命的疾病與殘酷的戰爭後，許多人因此喪生，世界各地民族都有屬於自己的紀念親友的方式、日子，也就是忌辰。藉由各種祭祀音樂混合為背景鋪陳，以摩斯密碼穿插，彷如瀰漫在空氣中的五味雜陳，有時清靜、有時驚慌，不也是許多人生的寫照？除了懷念親友，也有遠離疾病、戰爭與珍惜生命、愛好和平的涵意。
弦二協奏曲

“弦二”表達二胡的兩根弦，“弦二協奏曲”即是兩根弦所演奏出的音樂。這首協奏曲強調的是生活在現今社會中，一直接收不同的資訊與外來的刺激，使心靈、情緒、精神皆受到極大的起伏落差…。回想過去單純、簡單的生活，期望能沉溺在幻想的世界中，跳脫出現實的生活情緒。

〈碎心花〉為鄧雨賢作曲，周添旺作詞。
〈碎心花〉描寫純情少女卻因情郎薄情，以致誤其一生的悲嘆。周添旺作詞，嬌英演唱。歌曲曲調為四拍子，宮調式，五聲音階。每句四小節，四句式結構。每半句兩小節均從第二拍開始旋律音符，前三句節奏安排均相同，旋律高點安排於第三句，充滿希望之感，卻於第四句又落下，終究哀怨。

歌曲曲調為二拍子，羽調式，五聲音階。歌曲為五句式，每句長短不一，各句長度分別為四、三、五、四、五小節，其中第一、二句及第三、四句之間均加入了三小節之間奏句。每句節奏及旋律各有不同，但五句均分別中止在羽、角、羽、角、羽音，兩個間奏句亦均中止於角音，明顯呈現羽調式風格。
