大正初期臺中座外景

明治35（1902）年的臺中座是臨時房屋的戲場。明治41（1908）年始在榮町三丁目（今繼光街與中山路角）年建築150坪的劇場，大正2（1913）年買收寶座（大正館）營業演劇舞踊等相當興盛。照片為大正初期的臺中座外景。
蔡培火

蔡培火(1889-1983)，雲林北港人，總督府國語學校畢業後任教職，因參加同化會被解職，得林獻堂資助赴日，進東京高等師範，參與新民會、主編《臺灣青年》，並全力投入臺灣議會設置請願運動，治警事件中被捕繫獄。
櫟社為林獻堂、黃炎盛餞行

1913年，林獻堂（前左3）、黃炎盛（後左4）將遊中國，三月十九日櫟社社員在林癡仙的無悶草堂為兩人餞行，與會者有：（前排左起）1.鄭汝南、4.賴紹堯、5.傅錫祺、6.林癡仙、7.陳懷澄，（後排左起）1.林幼春、2.莊太岳、6.陳培煦及張麗俊、莊龍、陳貫。
臺灣新聞社新舍落成

明治34（1901）年臺中「每日新聞社」創立。明治36（1903）年改稱「中部臺灣日報」。二年後擴張版面發行擴及清國、韓國、滿州、蒙古。明治41（1908）年改稱「臺灣新聞」，大正4（1915）年新社屋落成而遷入（如照片）。該報於昭和初期發行一萬三千份。

This head of Guanyin [Kuanyin] has a small Amitabha Buddha in the headdress. The tip of the nose and the ends of the ear lobes are broken off.
