蔡培火(1889-1983),雲林北港人,總督府國語學校畢業後任教職,因參加同化會被解職,得林獻堂資助赴日,進東京高等師範,參與新民會、主編《臺灣青年》,並全力投入臺灣議會設置請願運動,治警事件中被捕繫獄。
