臺灣制鹽株式會社 北門鹽田曬鹽狀況

大正8年(1919)臺灣製鹽株式會社開辦，以大量資金挹注在新式鹽業，以機械蒸發罐、結晶罐製鹽，為傳統日曬鹽作出革命性的改革，出產精製鹽外銷日本。（參考資料：《安平區志》〈卷五經濟產業志〉，頁779） 北門鄉位於臺南縣西北端，昔日為臺江內海急水溪口外的沙洲島，舊名「北門嶼」。

臺灣神社位於劍潭山上，由伊東忠太(1867-1954)及(1872-1938)共同設計。興建於1900(明治33)年，翌年10月落成，為臺灣唯一的「官幣大社」，祀奉大國魂命、大巳貴命、少彥名命及北白川宮能久親王。神社境內還有日俄戰爭時使用的大砲、警察官招魂碑及大正天皇即位大典的紀念神苑等設施。

日治時期香蕉為臺灣大量輸出日本的水果之一。產量初以臺中州為最多，產地集中於大屯、員林、豐原、南投等地，至昭和年間生產重心才轉移至高雄。在當時並有蕉農組成的「青果同業組合」、官方的「臺灣青果株式會社」及日本批發商的「荷受組合」等組織，分別進行生產、檢查、打包、銷售等工作。

大正9年(1920)為了理蕃政策而在屏東街崇蘭(位於今屏東市)設置飛行場及軍營，昭和2年(1927)福岡縣太刀洗飛行隊轉移至此地，並於次年舉行飛行第八聯隊開隊式，光復後收編為屏東空軍基地。
