"desc": "In 2017 the Museum of the Institute of Ethnology (hereafter “Museum”) of Academia Sinica (hereafter“Institute”) collaborated with Lihang Studio, an indigenous peoples‘ community in Mepuwai Village, Miaoli County, to research, assemble, and display the collaborative exhibition <i>Memories on Her Side: An Exhibition on Old Atayal Wedding Attire, Everyday Clothing, and their Associated Objects </i>. That exhibition resulted in the release in the same year of the documentary films <i>Mutual</i> <i>Recognition: Documenting the First Collaborative Exhibition</i> (hereafter <i>Mutual Recognition</i>)<i> </i>and <i>Memories</i> <i>on Her Side</i>.<br>Ho Tsui-Ping (hereafter Tsui-Ping Ho) and Yuma Daru co-edited the Institute volume <i>Collaboration: Remembering a Tribal Exhibition of Old Atayal Objects</i> and published in 2019. That volume focuses on documenting the initial 2017 collaboration by describing the background of the collaborative exhibition, and how it facilitated exchanges and even contentions underlying knowledge systems that informed the 2017 exhibition. Excluding the volume’s “Preface,” the volume contains seventeen essays. Each essay shares the experiences of the different authors as anthropologists, museum curators, documentary film makers, community workers, craft artisans, weaving artists, and tribal weavers. <br><br>In 2022, the museum proposed the digital exhibition <b>‘</b><i>Memories on Her Side’:</i> <i>A Record of the First Collaboration Between the Museum of the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica and Participant Indigenous Groups</i> by incorporating the platform of \"Open Museum\" of comparatively unlimited accessibility developed by Academia Sinica’s Center for Digital Cultures. This digital exhibition provides a record of the physical exhibition <i>Memories on Her Side </i>between the Museum and Lihang Studio<b>. </b>Following closely the outline and content of the book <i>Collaboration</i>, the digital exhibition leverages digital technology to provide links to the different archival resources of the Museum as well as other supplementary visual materials and highlights the multiple voices of the <i>Collaboration</i> book’s 17 authors. ",
