"本展利用4個展廳12個單元，從地球誕生時的火球說起，冷卻後生命怎麼出現，氧氣從何而來，生命如何演化又為何滅絕，本來生活在海裡的生物是如何適應陸地的生活，適應後有些為何又返回大海的呢？<br>最後還看回臺灣這塊沒有恐龍的島嶼。雖然恐龍時代臺灣還沉在海底來不及參與，所以沒有恐龍化石，但臺灣還是有許多大型動物的化石。<br>很難想像臺灣曾經有大象，而且不只一種如猛獁象、古菱齒象、劍齒象等，此外犀牛、水牛、劍齒虎等等，許多想像不到的動物都曾在臺灣這個舞台上亮過相。<br>六千六百萬年前發生的大滅絕事件，使得恐龍消失了，哺乳動物因此得以出頭，成為地球上的霸主。而恐龍能夠主宰地球，也是因為三疊紀晚期的那場大滅絕，讓陸地上的主龍類和兩棲類都滅絕了，讓恐龍在沒有競爭對手下主宰了地球一億多年。生命來來去去，大滅絕讓主宰物種消失，但也給了另類生物機會。<br>近年空氣污染、水源污染、塑膠微粒問題、全球暖化的問題、氣候異常等等環境問題層出不窮，不禁讓人連想到第六次大滅絕，是不是悄悄的降臨了呢？人類到底又該如何面對呢？<br><br><a
