"美國史密松天文台與中研院天文所合作興建的「次毫米波陣列」啟用於2003年11月，是全世界第一組次毫米波陣列。陣列座落於夏威夷毛納基峰，由8座6米電波望遠鏡組成，其中兩座由臺灣製造。\n\n次毫米波陣列具備各式光譜儀器，特別適合觀測冷星際物質，可分析緊臨年輕或老年恆星的低溫雲氣、形成恆星或行星的吸積盤、以及外星系中的恆星劇增區。", "thumbURI":
