臺灣地區深海常見的甲殼類動物，主要分布於200-500公尺水深海域。食腐性，以水中有機物質甚至魚類屍體為食，是清理水下生物屍體的重要清道夫。 ●銀鮫 Chimaera phantasma 發現於全球各地的溫帶和熱帶海域的近海或超過2500米的深海。大約出現於4億年前比恐龍還古老。游泳緩慢、全身灰褐色沒有鱗片，空洞的黑色大眼看起來有點驚悚，又稱幽靈鯊。 ●東方人面蟹 Homola orientalis 由於蟹殼背甲看起來很像人臉而得名。後面兩對步足會反勾在背上，可把二枚貝、海葵或海綿等揹在背上達成偽裝目的。主要棲息在深度20-650公尺深的軟底質。 ●巨口魚科 Stomiidae spp. 大口吞食是這些魚的特色。能將下顎極力伸出使嘴部張大至120度，利用滿口利齒咬住獵物，再透過像蛇一樣可擴張的胃吞下比自己還大的魚，讓獵物沒有任何脫逃的機會。 ●熱泉鎧甲蝦  Kiwa hirsuta 與其他甲殼類動物截然不同，在螯上覆蓋著頭髮般的微細絨毛，其中含有許多絲狀細菌。由於這些細菌能將熱泉中的有毒物質轉化成營養來源，才讓牠們能在危險重重的熱泉區存活。 ●三腳架魚 Bathypterois sp. 深海底棲性魚類。在腹鰭與尾鰭上有特化的長鰭條，大部分的時間會利用長鰭條逆著海流張口直立於海床上，捕食經過的蝦、小魚或小型甲殼類。     ●隱巧戎  Phronima sedentaria 屬於端足目巧戎科，是一種浮游性的深海甲殼類，除極地地區外遍布世界各地。身體呈半透明，外觀與蝦相似，但有相對巨大的頭部與眼睛。 ●有孔蟲  Baculogypsina sphaerulata 從深海軟泥到海岸帶的共生海藻都可發現。牠的迷人外殼從寒武紀就已開始累積，因而形成海洋沉積物。科學家利用牠來研究古氣候和古海洋，石油工業則仰賴牠來找尋潛在的石油蘊藏。 ●筐蛇尾 Gorgonocephalus sp. 觸手會不斷分支成網狀樹枝結構，有如古希臘神話中令人聞風喪膽的蛇髮女妖梅杜莎。在遇到危險時會自割部分的腕足來迷惑敵人換取生存，斷掉的部分後來還會再長回。 ●深海鮟鱇魚 Bufoceratias shaoi  嘴巴上方有一支由前背鰭演化而成的發光釣竿，能誘引小生物前來成為牠們的食物，所以在英文中稱牠為Anglerfish（釣客魚）。釣竿末端餌球之所以能發光，是因為內有上百萬隻的發光菌。 ●龍宮翁戎螺  Entemnotrochus rumphii 俗稱龍宮貝，出現在古生代寒武紀，在中生代時非常活躍，於新生代走向滅絕。一度被認為已經消失，不過在1968年後陸續於臺灣海域撈獲與化石幾乎一樣的活體，故稱為活化石。 ●大王具足蟲 Bathynomus giganteus 早在1.6億年以前就已經存在的遠古生物，為深海中的重要食腐動物。在食物匱乏時可長期忍受飢餓。從頭部正面觀察，很像科幻電影中的異形生物。", "musicText": "",
