木琴
The Seediq xylophone is made of Roxburgh sumac, which requires three months of air-drying after cutting the wood. The entire instrument, including its base, is traditionally made of wood. The xylophone featured in this display incorporates a modern twist with an iron base. It consists of four wooden bars of varying lengths, each producing a different note, mainly Re, Mi, Sol, and La. The Roxburgh sumac has a soft texture and yields a clear and crisp sound once air-dried. The xylophones create a lively and richly layered rhythm when played in an ensemble. It serves multiple purposes, including sending messages, expressing emotions, and gathering friends and family for feasts. Xylophones are also played at weddings and celebrations. Players of this seated xylophone may use one or both hands, with men sitting cross-legged while women kneeling.
