[英文]According to Nowa Goro: @During the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, Wulai was a scenic area with plenty of woods. Located along the middle of the logging railroad, eventually it became a major resort. Later on the Japanese built a highway through this area, and developed it for tourism. Shown is scenic Wulai before its development during the Japanese rule of Taiwan@ (Tung 1996, p. 256).
