圓形木盤主要用於盛放煮熟的肉類，突起的圓台供切肉使用。雅美（達悟）族人因為飲食文化對於食物屬性和食用者有許多嚴格的規定與禁忌，因此木盤區分不同的名稱和形制，不可混用。
