營林所嘉義制材工廠

[英文]Jiayi timber factory was built in 1916, managed by the Forest Station. It is located in front of the north gate railroad station in Alishan. At the time it was believed as as the largest timber factory in southeast Asia. After the reclamation of Taiwan, it was renamed as Jiayi No.1 timber factory, specializing in making commercial timbers. The wood storage in this picture is transformed into the culture center of Jiayi City.
