[英文]One published copy of this postcard was stamped @40 Year Anniversary of Japanese Rule in Taiwan Exposition@ 1935. There were three cards in the series. This particular painting was by the artist 郷原古統. The ink and water style painting, populated by two motorized vehicles, strikes a familiar theme in Japanese colonial imagery of Taiwan: the juxtaposition of the modern and traditional. Lee (1996) writes, @This picture was done in traditional Japanese mode, but it applied quite a few traditional Chinese water-and-ink techniques@ (p. 99). The back of the card is printed with @Yubin ehakaki@ despite the convention that all post-Feb 15, 1933 cards should be printed with @Yubin ehagaki@. Military mail is also an exception to this postal regulation.
