[英文]七脚川 or @Chikasowan@ (Qijiaochuan) was the site of heavy fighting between Japanese forces and Truku and Ami combatants in 1908. 内田嘉吉 Uchida Kakichi was the Civil Governor from 8/22/1910 through 10/19/1915, meaning that his photo was taken after the suppression of the revolt and after Japanese settlers from Tokushima began streaming into Hualian to build Yoshino village.
