For the @10th anniversary of the Government General in Taiwan commemorative series@ there were two series issued: one (three cards) on June 17, and one (three cards) on October 15th, according to (Shih 1996, pp. 18-21). 照片所見為臺灣總督官邸、右邊為臺北東門。而照片中人物為兒玉源太郎。 臺灣總督官邸位於東門內，初建於明治34年(1901)，大正10年(1921)大修，屋架採鋼骨，為後期文藝復興式建築，建築設計出自多人之手，初期由福田東吾及野村一郎參與設計，後來由森山松之助主持改築，八板志賀助亦參與之。從兒玉源太郎總督開始使用至光復前末代總督離臺為止。光復後改為臺北賓館，屬於外交部，位於今臺北市凱達格蘭大道一號，為國定古蹟。（參考資料：臺北市文化局網站，http://www.culture.gov.tw/sel1.htm） 景福門即臺北府城東門，為通往錫口（今松山地區）之城門，為單簷重脊歇山式建築，原附建外廓月城，和北門不同的是，東門屋簷下有綠釉空心花磚裝飾，而且兩側門孔旁均加開方形窗洞。另外，北門的外廓是方形，東門則是圓弧形。民國54年（1965）改建，位於臺北市中山南路與凱達格蘭大道交叉口，為一級古蹟。 兒玉源太郎(1852-1906)於明治32年(1899)接任臺灣第四任總督，殁於明治39年(1906)7月24日。 English Translation: The residence of the Governor General is inside of the East Gate. It was originally constructed in 1901 and a big renovation in 1921. The structure of the building is steel. Its design was from many architects. This building was used by governors from Kodama Gentarō till the last one before Taiwan reclamation. Afterwards, it was turned into a place for the ministry of foreign affairs in Taipei, listed as national historic relic. The street where it locates is currently named as Ketagalan Blvd, Jhongjheng District in Taipei City. Jingfu Gate is the east gate in Taipei, leading to Xikou. It is a xieshan style architecture. The decoration under the roof of the East Gate is different from that of the North Gate. So does the shape of windows. In addition, the North Gate is rectangular, whereas the East Gate is circular. In 1965, the gate was reconstructed, located at the crossing of Zhongshan southern street and Ketagalan Boulevard. It is listed as Grade I historic relics. Baron Kodama (1852-1906) became the fourth governor of Taiwan in 1899 and died on July 24th, 1906 (NCL).
