Vase with Waves and Dragons
詳細資料
This baluster shaped vase (or meiping, "plum vase") utilizes multiple techniques and glazes. First, the vase is covered with a brilliant crackled glaze of emerald-green passing into olive at the edges. Then, a thick over-glaze of peach bloom is applied, a light pink mottled with green. Beneath these thick glazes, a lightly etched decoration in the paste emerges ever so slightly. Around the foot of the base, two dragons mount into the cloud over sea waves. The vase has a round bulbous upper body which curves inward towards a ledged foot. The neck is short and narrow with a white rounded lip.
