Vase with White Glaze

The white paste of this tall vase is indented with vertical lines from top to bottom that follow the scalloped shape of the mouth. Beneath the convex contour of the neck are situated two handles in the shape of lion heads; they each hold rings through their pierced mouths. Covering the entire vase is a viscous white glaze which consumes the details of the animal heads and the rings.
