Mat for woman, of pandanus leaf. Stencil design in red applied using root bark dye. Frayed ends. This is either a woman's clothing mat (qan vivi) for a special occasion, notably marriage, or a mat to be held over the head of a woman at marriage 'qan hunhuni' (literally umbrella mat). The design is vule (moon). Mat, In addition to pigs, also function as regional currencies in Vanuatu.
